One of LCF’s objectives has been to put the professional skills of members at the service of the wider Christian community. As a result, since 1977, the Library Assistance Programme has offered advice and practical help to Christian organisations within the UK and Eire unable to pay for professional staff for their library or information services.
The programme also aims to raise awareness of the need for professional library and information skills in the many organisations within the Christian community.
Assistance and support
The Fellowship provides consultancy type advice to anyone who approaches us for help. Where the organisation cannot afford to employ the staff needed to provide a professional service, or where the needs cannot be met by existing staff, the Fellowship can organise working parties to tackle specific projects.
This assistance is provided on a purely voluntary basis by members of the Fellowship who have the appropriate skills. No payment is made to our members beyond out of pocket expenses incurred.
